VideosIn this section you will find the videos I have uploaded on YouTube. So far, I have compiled several time lapse videos and slideshows, but I have the intention of getting more into filming and editing. However, this is a very time-consuming undertaking, I am afraid. Film editing appears to be rather a science. But nonetheless, I am dedicated to get myself into it. I already have an HD camera and Final Cut Express - now I just need to get going...Well, for now, I hope you will enjoy my slideshows and I hope that the music may help create an atmosphere which is different from just clicking through a photo gallery. And for a change, you will also find some videos which are not related to Dubai. Just sit back and enjoy! Norway - Serene WildernessThis is a collection of pictures I took during my trips to Norway. I fell in love with this country and will continue to go there as often as possible. Its nature is just unparalleled in the world, with only few people living in this country. Norway is one of the richest countries in the world with a great infrastructure, yet most of it still is just true wilderness. Nothing compares to freely choosing a place to stay overnight amidst this beautiful nature, let's say next to a roaring waterfall, setting up a bonfire and watching the stars while having a beer or two. Life is good!New DubaiA collection of the pictures I took in this part of town. New Dubai is still developing with great momentum and it is very impressive to see how numerous skyscrapers rise from the sand. Especially the "Tallest Block on the Planet" is a project with just incredible dimensions.Downtown DubaiThis is where Burj Khalifa dominates each and every scenery. Its mighty appearance can not be ignored and even after several years of living in Dubai, every now and then I just stop and look at this awe-inspiring building for a while. However, it is so huge that you can only grasp its real dimensions when you look at it from afar.Inside Burj KhalifaThis video shows a collection of the pictures I took inside Burj Khalifa. On behalf of "Fritz Kohl Furnierwerk", I had been assigned to take pictures of the veneer panels. This gave me the unique opportunity to discover the magnificent interior of this building. Moreover, I actually got to shoot pictures inside Burj Khalifa! Usually, this is not possible, especially not with an SLR and a tripod. So for me, this was a dream come true.Time Lapse of Sheikh Zayed RoadThis video is one of my first attempts of understanding how time lapses work. It is compiled from 700 pictures, taken over a period of 90 minutes. Time lapse videos are technically demanding, since all camera settings must not only be made manually beforehand, also possible changes in the lighting conditions must be anticipated. It will be a long way to go for me to fully understand this matter.Time Lapse of the sunset at Jumeirah Lakes TowersAnother time lapse video, trying to capture the sunset as seen from the balcony of our office. Sunset and sunrise are especially difficult to capture in a time lapse video, since the drastic change in brightness will cause flickering in the video if you don't get the settings right. It reveals how much I still have to learn about photography. |
